Adamant® WWT Systems are modular treatment plants based on racks of 5 DiaCell® 1001 modules installed in parallel. Each rack is equipped with the necessary pipes, pump, sensors, valves, frame, etc. and has an anodic diamond electrode surface of 0.33 m2.
Several racks of 5 DiaCell® 1001 can be assembled together to obtain the required diamond anode surface (i.e. 3 racks for a unit with 1m2 of diamond anode, 6 racks for a unit with 2m2 of diamond anode, etc.). From 1 rack of 5 DiaCell® to X racks of 5 DiaCell® - all configurations are available.
The whole process is contained in a semi-automatic unit controlled by a CPU/industrial PC with data logging and an additional control rack with all the automation and electronics, including an optional treatment tank, necessary to operate with the unit. So a unit with 1m2 of diamond anode is composed of 4 racks (3 DiaCell® racks and 1 control rack), a unit with 2m2 of diamond anode is composed of 7 racks (6 DiaCell® racks and 1 control rack), etc.
In these systems, the water to be treated (in-line or contained in the optional tank) is circulated through the DiaCell® electro-oxidation modules that each contain 10 electrochemical monopolar compartments with 1mm inter-electrode gaps. The anode is a BDD/Si electrode, and the cathode a stainless steel electrode, each with an active surface of approximately 70cm2. The flow of water is managed by a flow indicator and each DiaCell® has a flow switch with a low value threshold. Flow can be varied by the pump and manual control valves. All DiaCell® are electrically connected in parallel to one DC power supply with an adjustable current.
Adamant® WWT systems based on DiaCell® 1001 are only suitable to treat waters that have a very low level of hardness, because with these DiaCell® it is not possible to operate in polarity reversal mode.
For waters that exhibit higher levels of hardness, Adamant® WWT systems based on DiaCell® 401 (fully equipped with BDD electrodes) are available. These are based on the same concept (rack assembled modular units) but can operate in polarity reversal mode.
